A quick guide to using our drop boxes
How long will it take?
We have drop boxes located around Aberdeenshire and we try to check on these at least once a week. This maybe by telephone to see if anything has been left or it will be us popping into the shop. Once your item has been collected we will take it back to base and sharpen it. If it is close to base such as Inverbervie or Laurencekirk we will probably return it within a few days. Further afield such as Aberdeen it might be up to 7 days.
Should you leave an item just after we have visited it won’t be picked up until the next visit. Do however feel free to let us know you have dropped something off.
You can also alert us using the button at the bottom of the screen
What can I leave?
Within reason you can leave anything you want. Just do remember the actual boxes are meant for knifes and scissors. So if you turn up with a pair of lawn edging shears these might cause a few issues.
What will it cost?
That very much depends on what you put in there. Our pricing is located here
How do I pay?
Each of the drop boxes the company hosting it does not get involved with the payment. Some are happy for you to leave cash, some aren’t. I will say who won’t take cash.
This means that all payment is done online. Each returned order will have a form with it which lists what has been done and what the cost is. This form will also have a QR code which will take you here where you can pay online
How do I use them?
The best way to leave a set of knifes or scissors etc is to fill out this form and we will fill in the costs at the end. If you leave an e-mail we can also e-mail you with costs beforehand.
To ensure your knifes etc are well looked after don’t just take them loose into the shop.
We recommend you wrap them in a tea towel as shown below along with your contact details and then either put a couple of elastic bands around it or put it in a carrier bag
